Owl Folk Hanging Hearts Tutorial

Simple wooden hearts provide the perfect base for you to create your own home décor pieces or special keepsake gift tags. The decoupage technique I’ve used is super quick and easy! Steps: Small heart 1. Cover the front of a small MDF heart with PVA or tacky glue, smoothing it to the very edges with your fingers. Place the glued side on the back of a piece of purple Owl Folk paper and press down firmly. Cut around the heart with craft knife and then sand the edges of the paper down smoothly so it looks like the paper is part of the heart. Press a pencil through the hole. Ink the edges with brown dye ink. 2. Press out the third layer of the ‘just for you decoupage piece’ and attach to the heart with foam squares. Tuck the orange bands behind the heart and glue down. Add bronze gems above and below. 3. Cut out two flowers from one of the papers and glue to the heart bottom left with a twine bow beneath. Cut out a couple of tiny feathers and add top right. Thread the heart with twine to hang. Large heart 1. Follow step 1 for the small heart above to decoupage the large heart. 2. Thread a metal owl charm with twine and tie it through the hole at the top of the heart, leaving the ends loose. Glue the charm down.
