Masculine Birthday Card

The docrafts festive printables don’t need to be just for Christmas. Use the patterned background papers to create everyday cards. The earthy colour palette of the Retro Snow and Snowman Collections are just perfect for those hard-to-achieve masculine cards. 1. Print out the downloadable Retro Snow and Snowmen papers (you can just print out the pages you need if you wish to conserve ink). 2. This design features built up layers of assorted shapes (use the A4 Xpress Die-cutting machine and nesting dies to die-cut the shapes). 3. To give the individual elements strength you can either use standard printer paper and mount the die-cut shapes onto plain card cut to the same shape or print directly onto thicker card. 4. Use the largest two square nesting dies to cut 2 squares, the largest using dark chevron paper (from the Snowman Collection), the smaller using small chevron paper (from the Retro Snow collection). 5. Use the second smallest rectangular nesting die to cut a rectangle from stripy paper (Retro Snow collection). 6. Cut out the ‘Wrinkle’ sentiment (or sentiment of your choice) using the second smallest circle nesting die. Use the next size up to cut a larger circle from dark chevron paper. 7. Create an antique effect around all the cut edges by dragging a brown die ink pad across the surface. 8. Layer up the shapes using 3D foam squares. 9. Die cut the recipient's name from green cardstock using an alphabet die. 10. To finish your card, add spotty buttons around the sentiment.
