Halloween Lantern Tutorial

Posted by KatieSkilton, 16 Oct, 2015

Instead of the traditional pumpkin placed in the window at Halloween, why not make a ghostly lantern from simple craft supplies to spook the neighbours and be the talk of the street? With the clever use of the Xcut Woodland Dies and the Papermania Bare Basics Gift Bags, combined with parchment paper, acetate and black cardstock, all that needs adding is some imagination and a battery operated tea light. This tutorial was originally published in docrafts Creativity Magazine Issue 51.

1. Die cut your chosen scene from black cardstock. Layer it on parchment paper and then acetate, cut to size.

2. Cut an aperture in the gift bag to fit the see-through part of the die-cut scene and attach the scene layers over the aperture using double-sided tape.

3. Cut or die cut a frame to surround the scene and attach to the gift bag with Stick it! 3D Foam Dots to give extra dimension.

4. Place a battery operated tea light inside the lantern.
