Advent Day 9 - Make your own Tree!

Posted by katygodbeer, 01 Dec, 2010

Use a simply Polystyrene cone along with a punch and some simple Papermania cardstock and Cousin beads for this mini-masterpiece!

  1. Thread a red seed bead onto a headpin and insert through the centre of each flower. For the flowers further up the cone you may need to snip the headpins slightly so they don’t stick out the far side! You can also angle then downwards towards the base of the cone. Add one seed bead/head pin for each flower.

  2. Use a glue gun to attach the cone to the base.

  3. Paint the polystyrene cone using the green paint – you don’t need to worry too much about applying several coats as most of the tree will be covered later. Allow to dry.

  4. Punch out lots of mini flower shapes and shape each one slightly between your fingers. Use the pokey tool to piece the centre of each flower.

  5. Use a little glue on the reverse of each shape and apply the shapes all over the cone, keeping them close together.

  6. Trim brown funky foam into strips measuring about 2.8cm wide. Wrap twice around an empty wide Anita’s ribbon reel. Glue in place and then wrap ribbon around the middle of the base. Add a bow to the front of the base.
