Stag shadow box card

Discover these delightful wintry dies such as seasonal stags and tales from the North Pole. The winter forest die lends itself perfectly to a little adaptation. Use invisible thread to hang glittery snowflakes and combine with textured papers from the Papermania Capsule Elements Metallics collection. Alternatively, go all-out clean and simple and craft the whole creation from layers of white. Once you’ve mastered the technique, you’ll be layering all kinds of shadow box designs from Xcut’s archive of amazing dies.

1. Cut a 24.5 x 14.5cm panel of textured white cardstock. Score at 5cm and 2cm from each side. Die cut the Xcut Winter Forest Die centrally, 2cm down from the top.

2. Snip the deer and snowflakes away from the scene using a craft knife or a small pair of scissors. Die cut the design again from a 16.5 x 14.5cm panel of grey cardstock. Score 1cm from each side.

3. Die cut the scene a third time from a white 16.5 x 14.5cm piece. Cut away the deer and glue invisible thread across the aperture. Cover some die-cut snowflakes in glitter and attach to the thread.

4. Glue the two panels into the body of the shadow box, fixing at the sides. Add a 16.5 x 14.5cm panel of vellum to the back and finish with an Elements Metallics frame.
